Before the IPL was postponed, players from five different teams had tested positive. Some of these players were affected before the league, some during the league. Four players, including Ashwin, withdrew from the league

Earlier, four players, including Delhi Capitals off-spinner Ashwin, had dropped out of the IPL due to Corona. Ashwin decided to leave the league after family members were affected by the corona. Apart from them, three Australian players also returned home two days before the league was postponed. They include Andrew Tie of Rajasthan Royals and Ken Richardson and Adam Zampa of RCB.
