In the first ODI match played between Pakistan and England, England has defeated Pakistan by nine wickets where England won the toss and decided to bat first. Pakistan was bowled out for 141 in 35.2 overs. In response, England easily achieved the target of 142 runs in 21.5 overs at a loss of just one wicket.

England’s first wicket fell when Philip Salt, who was playing his first international match, was caught in a slip off Shaheen Shah Afridi’s ball, while David Millan remained unbeaten on 68 and Zack Crowley on 58. Earlier, Pakistan suffered a huge loss in the first over of their innings when captain Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq were dismissed without scoring a run. Both players were dismissed by Saqib Mahmood, who has played for Peshawar Zalmi.

At one point, Pakistan had lost four wickets for a total of 26 runs. Openers Fakhar Zaman and Sohaib Maqsood tried to support the Pakistani innings and the partnership of both the players scored 50 runs but then first Sohaib Maqsood was foolishly run out and then Fakhar Zaman returned to the pavilion with his wicket to sniper Matt Parkinson who played the first match. After that Pakistan’s wickets kept falling from time to time and the entire team was bowled out for 141 runs and gave a golden opportunity for an inexperienced team of England to win the match.

“We are a successful team in bowling, so just because the team has changed a lot, we will not change our approach,” said England captain Ben Stokes after winning the toss. It may be recalled that two days before the start of the series, three players and four members of the England squad tested positive for Code-19, after which England announced a new squad for the series against Pakistan.

Nine members of the 18-member squad have not yet represented England at the international level. According to the CricKihaldi, Pakistani batsman Haris Sohail will not be able to participate in all the matches of the tour due to injury.

Pakistan has the option of replacing Harris Sohail with most of the players in the squad, but in this match, the team management has replaced Saud Shakeel. In the field of bowling, the eyes of Pakistani fans will be on Shaheen Afridi and Hassan Ali who have been in good form in recent days, while Shadab Khan is not yet in full form after suffering a series of injuries. The English team, led by Ben Stokes, will feature many new faces.
